Elementary School Blog Users

two women at a computer
An elementary school in Frederick County, Md. began using a blog after a feild trip to a Native American Reservation. The teacher, Mrs. Marrisa L. Dudiak, commented that "It allowed them to interact with their peers more quickly than a journal...Mrs. Dudiak [also] said she found that those who were quiet in class usually came alive online." Although the posts were filled with typical second grade grammar and spelling mistakes, the children enjoyed it and it was a great experience.

Middle School Blog Users

Students of Salem Middle School
Salem Middle School in Apex, North Carolina opened in 2004. The administration chose to implement the blogging system to keep in touch with its students and parents. In order to help everyone understand the purpose of the blog and how to use it, they will be hosting a technology workshop night to familiarize their students and parents with the blog system. They also have an RSS link available.
